There are over 1,800 Ali'i chief titles in Samoa alone, some that have been passed down through generations and they are not allowed to come to the US and keep those designations,  something that Hawaii and American Samoa have fought over for decades!  This is part of our culture, our heritage, our Mana...our religion.  The US finds the same issues with Native American Indian Tribes on reservations....

Why are war drums so important to Polynesians?  Why do the Makua's ask their loved ones to sing, chant and drum as they die?  The belief in "Mana" stirs up a strong connection to the life they have lived and the world they are going to join.  War Drums, the culmination of spiritual direction in life and death, the key to opening portals between the world we live in and the world we are drawn to.
