In "Lover, Stalker, Killer," Dave Kroupa became romantically involved with Shanna “Liz” Golyar and Cari Farver in 2012. Golyar was from the Harrison County city Persia and Farver was from the Pottawattamie County city Macedonia, according to the Associated Press.

Farver disappeared in November 2012 and was last seen in Omaha. Yet Kroupa received thousands of emails from her over the course of several years following her disappearance.

On the night of Sept. 21, 2001, Sherri Malarik’s home was bustling with activity. The Navy air traffic controller was hosting a family sleepover with pizza, video games and a large group of kids that included her own — her blended family had five — and her sister’s. At one point, Malarik, 34, stepped outside. She never returned. The next morning, her body was found inside the family’s Dodge minivan in a parking lot just outside Pensacola, Florida. She’d been shot twice with a .25-caliber gun.

In June 1996 police were called to a nice suburban home located in Rowlett, Texas in the middle of the night. When they arrived at the scene they found two of the Routier children with stab wounds and Darlie with injuries as well. As the investigation progressed Darlie’s innocence was brought into question. Matthew Wayne Shepard  was a gay American student at the University of Wyoming who was beaten, tortured, and left to die near Laramie on the night of October 6, 1998.  He was taken by rescuers to Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he died six days later from severe head injuries received during the attack.

Susan Marie Powell is an American missing person from West Valley City, Utah, whose 2009 disappearance and presumed murder, as well as the subsequent investigation and events, garnered national media attention. Susan's husband Joshua was named a person of interest in the investigation into her disappearance but was never charged. On February 5, 2012, Joshua killed himself and their two young sons, Charles Joshua Powell  and Braden Timothy Powell  in a murder–suicide after custody of the boys had been awarded to Susan's parents, Judy and Charles Cox.

Suspicion arose in late August of 1988 when Bert Gonzales Montoya, a boarder, failed to show up for an appointment and was missing. The police would being an investigation on Dorothea Puente and her boarding house located at 1426 F Street. During that investigation they would uncover the bodies of seven individuals, including Bert, buried in the yard

In 2000, Lucie Blackman, 21, vanished while living in Tokyo and working as a hostess, sparking an international investigation. Seven months after she went missing, her body was found buried in a cave. In addition to Lucie, the police discovered another woman about a decade earlier had the same fate.  The police named Joji Obara as a suspect in both cases and eventually tied him to approximately 200 rape victims as well.

The period between June 2015 and June 2016 the neonatal unit at Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester UK saw a sharp increase in the deaths and collapses of otherwise healthy babies. The common denominator in all these incidents was 25 year old nurse Lucy Letby. After a year long investigation by police Lucy was charge with the murder of 7 babies and attempted murder of 10 more.

Around 4:00am on August 23, 1987, the bodies of 16-year-old Don Henry and 17-year-old Kevin Ives were hit by a freight train in the town of Alexander, in Saline County, Arkansas, United States, as they were laying on the tracks. The locomotive engineer engaged the brakes while blowing the horn, but the train could not stop in time and rolled over the bodies.
