Ethereum Shapella update leaves $1.4B stuck in withdrawal queue

Crypto traders may have to wait weeks to withdraw funds from the Ethereum blockchain following the launch of its long-awaited ‘Shapella’ software upgrade.


As reported by Reuters, Shapella was intended to unlock $30 billion worth of ether (ETH) staked by investors. However, according to data firm Nansen, around $1.4 billion is currently stuck in a withdrawal queue.

US helps Malta crack phone of alleged crypto scammer and kidnapper

US federal authorities are assisting Maltese police in building a case against businessman Luke Milton, accused of stealing up to $700,000 worth in cryptocurrency from a Maltese victim.


Authorities believe Milton, currently out on bail on unrelated charges of kidnapping, convinced a man over lunch to hand over his phone to help them invest in crypto. Instead, he allegedly transferred the man’s tokens into his own wallet. The US is now helping to gain access to the wallet.

Bug-riddled Twitter will display eToro’s crypto prices in-app

Last week Twitter announced a service that allows users to view the price of crypto and other assets in-app via a partnership with trading platform eToro.


eToro’s real-time prices for crypto, stocks, and more can be found in-app through a new service called $Cashtags, reportedly rolling out on Thursday. However, in order to trade assets, users must click on a 'view on eToro' tab which will take them to the trading platform’s website.
