Inspired by the recent release of TV & Film themed cars we thought we'd talk about... TV & Film cars. Professionals Capris, Captain Scarlet Patrol Cars, but also scratch built and modified cars so there's mention of such unlikely motors as Princess 1800s, Austin Allegros and even a Porsche 956 which appeared in Miami Vice. Unlikely names prop up too, including Derek Bell (he was in Miami Vice, apparently) and Fatima Blush. We end with some debate on the best and worst motor racing films leading to a rare occasion when Le Mans and Bobby Deerfield get mentioned in the same breath.

All slot car clubs have their own character - and characters. On the south coast of England, in an 18th Century barn, Worthing HO Racing is a club with a difference.

Started in 2010 with local government support, the aim was to involve the surrounding community, initially racing HO cars. Fifteen years later, last month alone, the club welcomed 60 people to its events, many coming for the first time. They still race HO, but also 1/32 digital and the latest addition is slot rally.

There's talk of what caught our eye at the Slotfest, including the marvelously accessible Scalextric stand where Scott was caught on camera fondling Captain Scarlet's SPV, the slot.it BMW M3 prototype which Pedro insists he didn't break and the controversial, at least for the rivet counters, MRSlotcar classics.

Giddy with excitement ahead of Christmas, or possibly too much Night Nurse, Scott sees strong hints of a new Carrera Ferrari and muses on the morality of modelling dead men's cars. Nick has Super Glued his specs, but paints on through the haze only to discover the much anticipated ScaleAuto Mitsubishi is too wide for Slot Rally GB. Undaunted, he's also converting ancient Airfix kits into yet more rally cars and looks forward to buying more StaffsSlots wheels.

As it's the season of giving, Nick answers the question you've all been asking (OK, one listener's question...

Excited by upcoming motorsport movies (yes, plural), we wonder if the story of Walter Röhrl might better be told by a grand Wagnerian opera. There's lots of Germanic intrigue, treachery and triumph, not to mention iconic cars from Lancia and Audi, even a secret mid-engined, 4WD Mercedes.

Nick has been tempering his frustration with the postal system by stripping in the cause of saintly loveliness while Scott is overjoyed to have his rims renewed and pleased to encounter some stiff stub axles.

There's also a story about a brave goose and a man called G...

While Fly's release of a tiny Tom Cruise might be satire, is the model of the late tiny Queen Elizabeth's 911 treason? For one thing, where's the Corgi? Fortunately, Scott has a solution.

Nick, fresh back from the Wye Valley Club slot rally in Abergavenny, reports on how the bargain bucket Scalextric Subarus got on and asserts, quite assertively, that a NSR Porsche 911 is not a rally car no matter how many co-drivers you add to it.

There's also talk of Super Bonkers Skinny Motors, Tungsten putty and overheated tyres, all news to Scott...

All great quests start somewhere and The Search For The Green Morgan is no different: it starts today. Not to be left out, Nick's quest to repaint as many Scalextric Subraus as he can find on eBay continues despite, checks notes, 'rampant profiteering' by the spray paint makers. Elsewhere there is discussion on the merits of a pig-whale hybrid: unwelcome as a slot car (think Porsche liveries) but could produce epic bacon rashers if such a Chimera were ever achieved in reality.

From idea to execution took just days and it's still going now: Slot Forum was created by a dispersed bunch of Europeans who'd never met, but who wanted an on-line home, close to home, for their shared hobby : Scalextric and slotcars.

Reuniting some key players for the first time in several years, the special episode brings recollections and reminiscences of how it started and what Slot Forum was like in the early years.

*Strictly speaking it was in September, but I wasn't going...

We're oddly excited about trips to Wales in Winter thanks to the return of the Slot Rally GB Championship next year: further proof we don't get out much. Not entirely unrelated, there's keen anticipation for upcoming rally slot cars and musings on what to run in the new rally classes at the club. Elsewhere, Nick freely admits to having a big but, although this turns out to be a concern about the ultimate performance of the newly announced Carrera NASCARs rather than a tailoring issue.

Can the Dragon Snake shake off its skin issues? Who wants a pink Cobra anyway?

Also in paint: Nick's been building wheels and may have to break a vow of abstinence by adding to his Porsche 956 collection with just one more white kit. There must be something in the air (other than pink paint flakes) because even Scott's contemplating trying a Ferrari F1 white kit. All sense has fled.

From re-issued Auto Unions via BMW white kits to slot shops in Austria selling only Carrera digital, there's a distinctly Germanic flavour to this episode. There's discernible joy at the thought of well-made wire wheels, despair at the lack of variety in Spirit BMW liveries (and the subsequent sacrifice of a gorgeous Gitanes scheme) and fond recollections of the 70s with the help of James Hunt, Gerry Marshall and Big Bertha. Don't worry, that last one is a car, honest.

How a throw-away idea over dinner became a two-day festival of slot cars and rallying. Gold plated trophies, cars running through water, a hill climb to a castle and lots of happy people. It was never repeated, but it kick-started a fondly remembered, multi-year slot rally championship with events across the country, limited edition cars and many fond memories. With a slew of new models imminent, we ask can you have too many Corvettes? Scott certainly has too many Cokes.Thus fuelled, he gets up early and drives to an actual model shop to buy a Scalextric Marlboro Rover while Pedro has it home-delivered. Both agree it's Slot Car of the Year, for today at least. Pedro is still painting and decalling white kits - including a Coke one - while Scott has speed-built some tanks and gets classic F1 inspiration for his Bond Bug kit: why have three wheels when you can have six.

Getting all philosophical about his self-inflicted poverty, Scott kicks off quoting an ancient Greek to justify not buying any cars. Scott has gone rally-mad ahead of his trip to Wales for the Abergavenny Rally Slot Car Club summer event. His excitement is palpable. Expect Manta banter, news of Nissans and mention of Mitsubishis to come.

Pedro's fondness for rally cars is more muted, despite confessing to owning several SCX Seat Cordobas, so he throws in an impersonation of a much loved regional retailer to cheer himself up.
