In March 2022, 37-year-old Cassie Carli went missing from Santa Rosa County, Florida, after meeting her child’s father, Marcus Spanevelo, for a custody exchange. Days later, her remains were found in a shallow grave on property in Springville, Alabama, tied to Spanevelo.
Since then, the case has moved between Florida, Alabama, and federal courts, leading to multiple charges. Federal prosecutors have now announced they will seek the death penalty against Spanevelo in connection with Cassie’s death.

In August 2000, Susan Carter and her 10-year-old daughter Natasha “Alex” Carter disappeared in West Virginia. For over two decades, their case went unsolved, and suspicion lingered. In April 2024, Larry Webb confessed on his deathbed to killing Susan and Alex and burying them in his backyard. 3 arrests have been made in the disappearance of Crystal Rogers in Bardstown, KY. Steve Lawson is the first to head to trial on May 27, 2025 while his son, Joseph Lawson and Brooks Houck are set to start on June 24, 2025. Houck was the last one to see Crystal before she went missing back in July 2015. The couple were living together and shared a 2 year old son at the time she disappered.
