Great sporting rivalries deserves great guests and this episode does not disappoint.  

Self elected club ‘hype man’ Felix Henderson talks to Bainesey and the Heron about how he ‘creates the atmosphere for success’.  Perhaps more significantly, brother Oscar takes us from minis rugby, to rugby uni, a study year playing abroad, to becoming a leader and a key member of the teams success.  Two men who continue to make a huge contribution to the club.

After an unintended break, the pod returns to speak to Dave Hall, the volunteers coordinator. As well as being a wonderful person, he is using his experiences as a player, coach and all round great guy to support and increase the volunteer engagement across the club - ‘the club can’t run without volunteers.’

Mike and Bainesey begin the pods third season with first team stalwart and newly appointed Men’s Chair JV.  Jon talks of the exciting opportunities and challenges for the first team as they prepare for a new league, his experiences as a player and at times captain and what he hopes to achieve as the section lead in the season ahead.

Fresh from the mens second team winning their league, Bainesey speaks to Sam Thomas.  Sam has played for the club for the past nine seasons, picking up appearances for all four senior teams.

As some of the boys and girls academy players look to relocate for University, Sam is a great example of someone who found a home at the local rugby club to uni.  Fortunately for us, he found Farnham and has made the club his home.

With the expanding roster of presenters to include more club captains, this week Bainesey welcomes back new host John Hartley, Vets Skipper, and they talk all things ‘Movember’ with Rich Best, the self-proclaimed ‘CEO’ of Farnham’s 60km ‘Mo Walk’.

The walk takes places in the final weekend of Movember, and will see over 50 club members from all sections meeting on the hallowed turf of Twickenham, before quite literally risking life and limb walking 60km along the Thames Path and Basingstoke Canal to reach Wilkinson Way in time for the 1st XV kicking off against Totton...

Badams and Bainesey sit down with Mike Darlow, whose quiet generosity is well known across the club.  Head Coach of the u12 boys, men’s third team stalwart and touch player; there are few parts of the club Mike is not contributing to. We find out about his journey from rugby in Australia, through to being a prolific volunteer and contributor to the club, recognised as last seasons Senior Clubman of the Year.

Titled 'Three Men and a Vet' (although there is disagreement on the accuracy of the statement), John Hartley takes us through why the vets helped him to find a new home when he relocated to Farnham and some of the traditions of the L'Escargot. We find out how he become involved in rugby, put the rugby world to right and why his most important game is yet to come.

The Heron has migrated back to the pod, to join Bainesey and Graeme 'Blackie' Black ahead of the first minis training session this Sunday. With over 450 children descending on Wilkinson Way, Blackie talks of the importance of minis rugby and his passion for ensuring a fantastic experience for all.

Before the senior mens and women's season begins, Bainesey and Badams speak to the mens Head Coach Ali Chisholm and the assistant to the coach (and Harlequins player) James Chisholm about how pre-season has gone, what got them into coaching and their hopes for the season.

Ahead of the competitive season, Polly Ross (England Touch, and European Champion) and Tom Kirk (Touch Chair) teach Bainesey and the Heron the rules of touch, why it is such a fun, high energy and inclusive sport and how members of the club can get invovled. Polly also discusses the upcoming Touch World Cup, due to be held at a very glamorous location.

At the end of the senior mens season, Bainesey, Badams and the Heron catch up with first team captain, Toby Salmon, to celebrate the many successes of the mens teams.
