We jumped into Love Flops at the recommendation of Jeb and at first we thought it was going to just be a standard harem show with some comedy which was true for the first half of the series but then it takes a hard pivot to VR Escapism because of grief coupled with AI trying to “learn love.” We talked about the intentional time leaps as well as how time passed vs how it appeared to have passed, and how each girl basically feels like they used a different “training dataset” for what love might look like.

This week we are talking about Temple which was a recommendation from Jeb. It was a chaotic ride that also was a fan service heavy show. We dove into Akemitsu’s painful attempts to stay pure while surrounded by anime’s worst temptations, plus the sheer craziness of his dad racking up a 20 million yen debt just so he can try and get a global harem. In the end it was an anime that we laughed at, but because of the chaos we ended rewinding way more than usual just to catch what the hell was happening.

This week is all about Farming Life in Another World. Which was a recommendation. It was a nice change of pace from last weeks choice it had it's funny moments and time where it was entertaining but overall it was a show that was very middling for us. Where the faults just seemed to drag it down.

For Jack this is trip down memory lane and for him it was honestly best left there. The lack of certain plot point and the plot holes and slow pacing made it a tough rewatch. In this episode, we talked all about Berserk Of Gluttony Which was a recommendation from Jeb. We touch on Fate’s gluttony skill, which causes hunger that does not end and it also absorbs the stats and abilities of those he kills monsters and humans alike. The show had a fair number of positive points but it also a decent number of negative points as well.

This week we continue with Gate part 2 an isekai that take a different approach to the usually genre. And just like part 1 it did not disappoint at all. We get some resolutions that we were hoping for. The story progressed in a way that we predicted, it answered most of our questions and gave us a somewhat of an ending. All in all this is a story that is worth a watch just not if you are new to the genre.

In this episode we dive into Gate part 1 an isekai that take a different approach to the usually genre and it was a recommendation from "Elf Daddy Girl Issues" and "Danner536". This anime certainly doesn't pull it's punches on how things would likely go when a you pit medieval against modern military dishing out some “f around and find out” pretty much through the whole story. The Character development and story was solid for the show and it was well worth the watch.

This week we get back into the goblin slaying world of Goblin Slayer. This season while our MC is still the main focal point we start to learn more about the others that are with him. We also go to see another side of him in more ways than 1. Add in the world building that they did and this season really helps lay out the foundation for more adventures and solid 3rd season should it ever come.

That said, it was a story that was simply enjoyable, an easy watch. It’s one of those shows best enjoyed with your partner and a great pick for those new to the genre since it’s not too heavy.

This week we get transported to another world only before we actually get there we get lost in the weeds with random details but after a few minutes we get back on track and then finally get to our destination. And it was an interesting one at that. It takes the normal genre and give the protagonist a set of skills that they had in their previous life but even with that, it ultimately still follows the same tropes for the anime and they also leave out a lot of detail, but even with that it was an entertaining...

This week, we explore another Ghibli movie! It is filled with the magical elements we've come to love from Ghibli. However, it does carry a heavier tone in some spots. So if Spirited Away wasn’t your cup of tea, this one might not be either, as it shares a similar vibe, but if you like it then you may just like this one was well and it is also perfect for introducing anime newcomers to this fascinating genre.

 This week was a solid choice, and it was one that certainly took you out of the norm for healing magic and gives it a fresh new look in a positive way. While the main character is not meant to be the hero of the story Usato is certainly the hero for a majority of people. The story as a whole is solid with great character development and comedic dialog to help break those serious scenes up. This one is well worth the watch, and we would recommend it to anyone.

 We take a moment this week with a change of pace and watch something a little more mellow. It was an enjoyable one that Rick had no issues with watching in public. Overall the story main characters were well rounded and written in a way that made them enjoyable. Fel was an enjoyable comedic relief that was not done in the usual way making it all the better. This one is for sure is one that is well worth a watch.

 Story time this week was all about some ghosts. More specifically it was about an anime called Ghost Stories. Specifically the dub version. It is something considered to be a dark comedy where they make fun of and offend every group and demographic. This is not a show for those who get easily offended and it can be fun to watch for some. With outlandish dialog through the series this is certainly one that makes it an interesting watch.

We continue our journey into the Horizon. Sadly, though for us it is just a repeat of what happened last time. The story was a repeat of what it was before and just more drawn out. Though it may be that way by design it may not be something that is for everyone. In general, we thought that if we watched it with a longer time in-between the 2 seasons that we would have viewed it better but also at the same time with how season 1 ended you needed to watch it back-to-back.

This week, we’re chatting about a show a fan suggested. At first, we weren’t sure if the story would go anywhere. There were bits that made us go ‘huh?’ and some stuff just didn’t get wrapped up. The show kept throwing these ‘gotcha’ moments at us. And they really loved showing off the ‘PLOT’ a lot, which kinda took away from the whole thing. Season 2 of "The Demon Girl Next Door" really stepped up the game compared to the first season. It's packed with more laughs, and the addition of new characters really spices things up. Plus, it ties up loose ends from season 1 by providing much-needed answers. Definitely, a must-watch in our opinion.

This week's focus is on Backstories. With each episode featuring a backstory and minimal character development, making this anime is one for the books, in a bad way. In our opinion, it is one of the worst anime we have seen in a long time, almost as bad as Glasslip. Some characters even had us questioning why they were still present. In our opinion, this show is not worth watching, but if you need a break from all the great shows you watch, this may be what you need.

This week's topic is High-Rise Invasion, an intriguing take on the isekai genre set in a modern-day environment rather than a medieval one. While the story showed potential, it fell short in some aspects, leaving the us with numerous unanswered questions and while at the same time giving us unnecessary fanfare. By the end of the series, it seemed as though the creators were pushing for a second season, but there is no guarantee that it will happen. Despite its shortcomings, the anime had its merits and was somewhat entertaining.

This weeks choice takes a different view of the Iseki genre. And it is not a bad thing for it as well. In fact the story for this one is sold and they do not shy away from the harder aspects of the entertainment industry and the choices that our main characters have to select. It keeps it feet planted on the ground in our version of reality as well. In that there is no magic or monster's (in the traditional sense). This one is certainly worth the watch.

With a story like there they do a good job of leading you to a way of understanding the differences in between the 2 groups and also really play to how some people truly are and is that focus on people being afraid of the unknown with those who follow them and with those who are willing to venture forward. This movie is truly one that is worth at least 1 watch.

Much like this anime the level of plot in it is another lever. It seems like not matter what happens or what the main character does they always come out on top.

This week Jak talks about the Starship Troopers not to be confused with the movie. This anime came out in 1988 holds truer to the Book then the Live Action movie did. This Anime was poorly done one where the characters were dry. The Character development was poor, and it takes several episodes to build up to a climax that ultimately never comes. This honestly is a show that should be avoided in Jack's opinion.

This week's choice is about 2 teenagers growing up and struggling with their self-image or social anxieties. Things a lot of people still struggle with even as adults making is easily relatable. The animation is bright and vibrant, so it does not really fall into an art style that Jack cared for and he felt that it really detracted from the movie itself. This was a movie that had great potential, but it floundered on so many fronts.

It's just Jack this week as Rick was unable to join in. The choice for this week was not a great a one but also not a bad one. The character development was poor, and the story was lacking. The artwork for it was solid and the music was good for when it was there. But that is all that it really had going for it. If you are just getting into the BL genre this would not be one to watch for the first.

This week we talk about a carnival of stories. Each one is unique and interesting and showcases an artis style and their own story. But how Jack and Rick felt were on opposite ends with how they viewed it as a whole. While Rick liked each story and art style, and it was new and interesting for him. For Jack, it was not like that. The art styles he saw were ones he was previously introduced to and the stories where ones ultimately did not sit well with him.

Appleseed is a classic anime that did not age well. The story was not done well, the dialog made no sense and there was so much plot armor that not even with all the sentence enhancers that they added can save it. Honestly, this is one that we feel that you can pass by.

There were a couple of things that were a put off for it but overall it was not so glaring that it dragged the series down. This one is definitely worth the watch.

We get brought into the world of Alchemy and fight with this week's choice. This anime for us played on a sense of nostalgia. More so for Rick than Jack. But even with that for them, they could not get past the plot armor that it had for it and just cheapened the show as a whole. The story was shallow and no real character development. It was one that they did not care for too much. Jack had a larger distaste for it than Rick.
