Ultramarathoner Tavi Wallace, who has completed two 100 mile races along with 78 marathons, will pace runners in this week's Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon.

60 different pacers organized by Dallas Harshfield will run at various speeds to keep runners at their desired speeds.  Tavi, for instance, will carry a sign that reads 3:55 PACE. That means she will run 8:57 per mile for the entire 26.2 miles of the marathon course. Any runner who is properly trained to stay at that pace will earn a sub-4 hour final race time of 3 hours and 55 minutes.
