David and Mick head out to Jersey to attend T.H.E. New York Audio show.  They pick their best in show systems and share interviews with Neil Blanchard of Neil Blanchard Designs, Leo Ayzenshtat from Orchard Audio, and Robert Lighton from Robert Lighton Audio.

Apparantly, Mick and Dave do not like Daft Punk.  Mick goes on a tear about the current state of EDM while David listens politely.  Then, they speculate about women in audiophilia and why there aren't any.  Mick goes on another rant about "audio incels."

In this episode, Mick makes a confession, David gloats.  David then gives an update on The SpAce and his buyer's remorse (Audio Phil strikes!), then they both get into it over vinyl versus digital.

Yet another SpAce update. Then Mick and David interview Scott Bierfeldt, owner of Verdant Audio, an audio retailer based in New Jersey.  He schools both of our hosts on what it's like to sell high end audio gear.

The guys talk movie soundtracks and list each of their top three.   David can't believe that Mick has never seen a classic neo-noir gangster film and takes Mick to film school. 

Mick and David share their audiophile origin stories (lots of gamma rays and radioactive spiders!). Mick waxes nostalgic about Tech Hifi on Long Island and his early musical influences. David credits his dad's audio passions for igniting his own, and his friend's Shahanian Obelisks sparking a lifelong love affair with the brand. 

Mick shares the tragic end of his vinyl collection, and his hard pivot to digital (bring plenty of hankies!). The beauty of the Abby Road half-speed remaster of Quadrophenia.

David gets Magnepans for his listening room; Mick praises the "Maggie sound" but David has notes. Equipment break-in: real or myth? (spoiler alert: it's real).

Uplifting words of encouragement for beginners, and some passionate advice to avoid the "audio incels" who are turning audio "measurements" into modern phrenology. Also no love for the YouTubers whose business model is based on affiliate links. But Mick has lots of love for the Rockna Wavedream SE.

David's daughter comes out as audio-curious; Mick makes suggestions but they just end up talking about Apple and Steve Jobs then bicker about analog versus digital. (HINT: David's daughter still doesn't have an audio system.)

They then go on to go on an "Audio Dumpster Dive," looking for the best deals on the used market.

Lastly, they play a round of "Would You Buy It?," where they carefully consider purchasing isolation feet.
