Dinner with Dan

Tonight on Dinner with Dan, the gang enjoys a delicious Polynesian meal made by the great cook Kate.  They are excited to have special guest Frank Gehres who actually lived on a boat and has some great insight on the movie 1935 Best Picture Mutiny on. the Bounty.  And a robust discussion ensues about Dan running the Dinner Table like Captain Bligh.  Will mutiny occur on Dinner with Dan?  Join us and find out!

We missed Kate tonight as we had Breakfast for Dinner and enjoyed what Nan thought was the best movie yet--It Happened One Night.  As we enter the King of Hollywood's era, Dan regales the table with facts about the 1934 Best Picture film It Happened One Night.  We all decided it doesn't get better than this first ever rom-com, meet cute and all.

We are back the week before Thanksgiving to have another great dinner on Wroe Avenue.  Tonight is German themed in honor of 1932 Best Picture The Grand Hotel, which takes place in Berlin.  Bratwurst, red cabbage sweet potatoes and salad are served up with some absinthe and the Louisiana Flip drink.  None of us want to be alone like Garbo, but instead enjoy some great company discussing an excellent movie, The Grand Hotel.

Join dinner with Dan for a very special guest--hot off the Appalachian Trail--Paul Dunkin Robinson.  An excellent conversation about an amazing journey.  A delicious meal of pulled pork, mac and cheese, green beans and Dunkin' Donuts.  But the best part of today's dinner is being with a good friend hearing about a once in a lifetime journey with Dan's hero.

This week the dinner table embarks on the journey of watching and discussing every Oscar winning best picture from the very beginning.  We start at the beginning by discussing the 1928 movie Wings, celebrating with some chicken wings, good champagne and a delicious fall cranberry crumble for dessert.
