Jerry Robin has long been a fixture on the pro motocross and Supercross circuit, as one of the sport's most prominent privateer racers. His life took a drastic turn on April 19th, though, when he crashed during practice at the East Rutherford Supercross and suffered paralyzing injuries. After 31 races, the 2025 Monster Energy Supermotocross World Championship has finally come to a close. In the 450 class, Jett Lawrence handily wrapped up his third consecutive title and remains the only racer to carry the number-one plate since the series' inception. In the 250 class, Jo Shimoda endured a barrage of attacks to earn the 250 SMX Championship and became the first Japanese racer to earn an American championship. Somehow, we survived the weekend to talk about it all!

A couple of weeks ago, we were able to get in touch with John Gregory of the legendary JT Racing motocross apparel company from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, but we were cut short when his neighbor dropped in for a surprise visit. In this episode, we were able to track John down again and complete his memoirs about the glory years of JT Racing, the transition into JT Paintball, and ultimately selling the brand to retire.

The St. Louis round of the Monster Energy Supermotocross World Championship Playoffs yielded two boring motos and two motos that had us on the edge of our seats! Round five of the Pro Motocross Championship took place last weekend at MX 338, and yes, the results were the same in both classes, but all four motos were anything but boring! The stranglehold that Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan have on the 450 and 250 classes, respectively, is amazing, and we should all consider ourselves fortunate to be witnessing the performances that these two riders are putting on. The event has been years in the making, and our DMs and inboxes have been flooded with questions about the exciting developments, so we asked CMXRS Race Director Aaron Cooke to come in and share every single bit of information about the race with us. Round three of the Pro Motocross Nationals took place at Thunder Valley MX in Lakewood, Colorado, and the high altitude, combined with the rain of the previous days, delivered some thrilling racing that saw a new winner in the 250 class and some intense battles up front in the 450s. SLR Honda's Mikayla Nielsen recently traveled to Australia with four other American female motocross racers to represent the United States in the Oceania Cup, a WMX event that pitted four countries against each other over a two-day, three-moto format. The event - in which the USA finished a close second - hasn't seen much publicity in the American motocross media, so we asked our SoCal neighbor to join us on the 6D Helmets Midweek Podcast and fill us in on the whole experience. Our luck ran out last weekend in Foxborough, and round 12 of the Monster Energy Supercross Series was an absolute quagmire! While the winners in each class were no surprise, the rest of the results column was filled with names in places that we're not used to seeing. On that note, we invited fourth-place 250 finisher Justin Rodbell to take a break from his job as an HVAC technician and join us on the Kickstart podcast.

For as ho-hum as the Birmingham Supercross was a couple of weeks ago, the Seattle Supercross was a barn burner! Rain in the days before the race produced a race track that was arguably the most technical and challenging of the year, and the racing action that developed was wild! We're officially past the halfway part of the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross Championship and things are as tight as ever with only eight points separating Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton in the battle for the number-one plate and 10 points between East Coast Champ Tom Vialle and pursuer RJ Hampshire. Our friend Andy White is always fun to chat with and with FXR Racing's big leap into the world of sponsoring a factory race team, we thought it was the perfect time to bombard him with all of our questions about designing, developing, producing, and marketing motocross apparel.
