Before Alex Mangum became one of the specialized A&Ps maintaining a well-known, private owned HH-60 Blackhawk here in Utah, he developed an incredible career: 20 years of service in the Coast Guard, moving from the USCGC Chase engine room (busting drug runners) to flying dangerous Search & Rescue (SAR) missions. We discuss the commitment that fueled his Aerospace Engineering degree, leading to his dream job on the Virgin Galactic program, and his current work at Northrop Grumman.
