In 2022, the University of the Southwest's golf team was in a horrific van accident that killed nine people including the team's coach, Tyler James. Dayton Price suffered excruciating burns and nearly lost his legs. He was told he would likely never play golf again. After painful experimental treatments, Price began to recover. He's now playing college golf again and just shot 63 to win the third college golf tournament of the season.

The most emotional story of the week (and probably the year) is Corey Pereira. In June, Pereira’s wife, Leah, passed away after a years-long battle with cancer at age 28. Ryan French spoke with Pereira after his successful Monday qualifying round for the Procure Championship.  Pereira is giving fans something more than golf to cheer for this week and talks about it in this episode.

PGA Tour winner Robert Garrigus made news last week when he was quoted in a Golfweek article about the new PGA Tour schedule, saying he'd play against Jordan Spieth for Spieth's Signature Event sponsor invitations. Garrigus gives context to the quote, which was meant to be humorous and overheard as he was practicing alongside James Hahn, and provides his actual thoughts on the changes to the PGA Tour schedule.
