Oban took a risk, they aged their whisky in a barrel that once housed a Spanish Fortified Wine called Montilla Fino. This white fortified wine added some interesting characteristics that were similar to Oban's normal 14 yr, but turned the volume up to 100%. Do you like when secondary maturation adds to the whisky, or exemplifies already present notes?
